HOW TO SEARCH There are a variety of ways to search PhoCusWright research. Subscribers and guests have the same search functionality; however, you must be a subscriber to read the articles and reports, with the exception of free content such as PhoCusWright's FYI and blog content. Non-subscribers will only be able to access abstracts for the articles as well as the free content. If your company has a subscription and you are a seatholder, you must log in (upper right corner of the Web page) to access your subscription content. If your company does not have a subscription for the article(s) you are interested in, some articles are available for individual purchase (noted with the BUY NOW button). Otherwise, for more subscription information, review the subscription overview or contact PhoCusWright Sales at +1 860 350-4084 x501. KEYWORD SEARCHING - FULL TEXT: Use the regular search form (located on the upper left side of the page if you're on the Find Research or My Subscription page, or on the upper right side of the page if you're on a different page) to perform a full-text search. This will search every word (including tags) of every publication in the library for the keyword(s) you specify. To search for an exact phrase, enclose it in quotes, like this: "social networking". Full text searches will always be sorted by relevance, rather than publication date. Full-text searches can also be filtered by topic, region, segment and publication type (see SEARCH USING FILTERS on this page). When performing a full-text search, you will see a block of blue text displayed on a light-grey background below each search result. This block of text will show highlighted excerpts of where your keyword(s) were found in the publication. Up to four excerpts will be displayed for each search result. If any matching tags for were found, those will also be shown and highlighted. Matching tags will always show on the first line of the highlight block. SEARCH USING FILTERS: Click on the green "FILTER BY ..." bars to the left (underneath the search form) to open and close the filter options. Filter the content by topic, region, segment and publication type. Either leave the search form blank and check the boxes next to various filters to specify your criteria, or enter a keyword or combination of keywords and use filters to further refine your search. SEARCH BY TAGS: Use either the tag cloud or the regular search form (located on the upper left side of the page if you're on the Find Research or My Subscription page, or on the upper right side of the page if you're on a different page) to search all content by tags. Tags are weighted in our index and items tagged with a word that you're searching on will be ranked very highly. Additional filters will work when using tags in the search form, but filters are bypassed when using the tag cloud. The tag cloud will hide itself automatically when search results are displayed. Show or hide the tag cloud by clicking on the "show/hide research tag cloud" link directly above it. Each article published since 2004 has been tagged with the most relevant keywords for that article. WHAT IS A TAG CLOUD? Definition from Wikipedia: A tag cloud (or weighted list in visual design) can be used as a visual depiction of content tags used on a Web site. Often, more frequently used tags are depicted in a larger font or otherwise emphasized, while the displayed order is generally alphabetical. Thus both finding a tag by alphabet and by popularity is possible. Selecting a single tag within a tag cloud will generally lead to a collection of items that are associated with that tag. (This is exactly how our research tag cloud works.) ACTIVE AND ARCHIVED CONTENT: All PhoCusWright content published since 2005 is considered "active content". This content is tagged and article abstracts provide a brief overview for subscribers and guests. PhoCusWright content published between 2000 and 2004 is considered "archived content". This content is included in the library and is searchable using the full-text search form and filters. Archived articles have not been tagged and most do not have article abstracts. |
